The Trailer Mover (often called an electric tugger) is a pedestrian electric tug designed to move heavy trailers by hand, perfect for a number of applications; towing general purpose road trailers, box van trailers, mobile welfare units and airport baggage trailers, particularly where there is limited manoeuvring space.
The Trailer Mover is designed to move loads up to 2,500kg and is compatible with common towing systems such as tow ball hitch, pintle hitch or towing ring hitch.
Our Design Engineers can work with you to develop bespoke hitches and coupling attachments for non-standard towing systems.
For heavier trailers up to 7,000kg we recommend our Heavy Duty (HD) Trailer Mover.
*Indicated load capacity is ultimately subject to the rolling resistance of the load.

A Trailer Mover (also known as an electric trailer dolly) is a pedestrian-operated electric tug designed to move trailers safely by hand. It allows a single operator to manoeuvre trailers in tight or restricted spaces without the need for a vehicle, making it ideal for yards, warehouses, depots, and airports.
The Trailer Mover is designed to handle a wide range of trailer types, including:
It is compatible with common towing systems such as tow ball hitches, pintle hitches, and towing ring hitches, with bespoke couplings available for specialist applications.
The Trailer Mover is rated to move trailers up to 2,500 kg. As with all electric tugs, actual performance depends on factors such as surface conditions, gradients, and the condition of the trailer’s wheels and bearings. For heavier trailers, a higher-capacity model may be recommended.
The standard Trailer Mover is designed for trailers up to 2,500 kg, making it ideal for lighter applications such as small road trailers, welfare units, and general yard use.
The HD Trailer Mover is built for more demanding environments and can handle trailers up to 7,000 kg. It offers increased traction, higher torque, and enhanced durability, making it better suited to heavier loads, uneven surfaces, or more frequent use in industrial settings.
If your trailers are regularly close to the upper weight limit, used on gradients, or operate on rough or outdoor surfaces, the HD model is typically the better long-term solution.
If you’re unsure which model is right, a quick review of your trailer type, weight, and working environment can help confirm the best option.
Yes. Because it is fully electric, the Trailer Mover produces zero emissions and can be used safely indoors as well as outdoors. This makes it particularly useful in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and other enclosed environments where engine-powered vehicles are not suitable.
The Trailer Mover works with a range of standard towing options, including tow ball, pintle, and towing eye connections. If your trailer uses a non-standard coupling, bespoke attachments can be designed to ensure a secure and safe connection. A quick review of your setup is usually enough to confirm compatibility.
